Badrinath Yatra with Hemkund Sahib Tour Packages - 07 Nights / 08 Days (Ex Haridwar)
Day 01: Arrival Delhi - Haridwar (205 Kms. 6 hrs. drive)
Upon arrival meet our representative and drive over to Haridwar and check-in at Hotel. In the evening watch the aarti at Har ki Pauri.
Overnight stay at hotel.

Haridwar lies at the footsteps of Lord Shiva's hills, i.e., Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttaranchal Pradesh. Here Suryavanshi prince Bhagirath performed penance to salvage his ancestors' souls who perished due to sage Kapila's curse. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth from Lord Shiva's locks and its bountiful water revived sixty thousand sons of king Sagara.

Continuing with the tradition, devout Hindus stand in Bhagirathi's or Ganga's sacred waters, praying for their departed elders' salvation.
The 'Aarti' or the worship of the Ganga after sunset and floating 'Dia' (lamps) is a moving ritual.

Day 02: Haridwar - Joshimath (275 Kms.)
In the morning drive to Joshimath and en-route visit Rishikesh. Upon arrival at Joshimath check in at the Hotel for overnight stay.

Joshimath is a distorted version of the Sanskrit word 'Jyotirmath', the place of the Shiva's Jyotirlinga. It is believed that sage Shankaracharya established one of the four peeths (centers) for sanyasis here. Joshimath falls on the way to Badrinath and it is believed that Lord Vishnu resides here in the winters.

Day 03: Joshimath - Badrinath (45 Kms)
The morning is reserved for your Pooja and Darshans of Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi & Sri Narsingh Mandir respectively. Next drive to Sri Badrinath Ji. Badrinath, one of the 'Four Dhams' is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van", meaning "forest of berries".

Day 04: Badrinath - Govindghat - Ghangaria (23 Kms drive + 14 kms trek)
Start early morning and drive over to Govindghat. Once there, start trekking towards Ghangaria.
Arrive Ghangaria in the evening, check in at Hotel or Camp for overnight stay.

Day 05 : Ghangaria - Hemkund Saheb - Ghangaria (5 kms trek per way)
Start your early morning trek towards Hemkund Saheb. On arrival take a holy dip in Hemkund.
After having a holy darshan, trek down to Ghangaria for your overnight stay.

Hemkund, the high altitude Lokpal lake, at 4329 meters height lies in heavenly environs. A steep trek from Ghangharia leads one to this spot in about four to six hours.

It is an important religious pilgrimage especially for Hindus and Sikhs. There is a Gurudwara and a Lakshman temple on the lake's bank. Encircled by seven snow clad peaks and associated glaciers, it reflects its surroundings enchantingly on its crystal clear serene waters. The glaciers from Hathi Parvat and Sapatrishi peaks feed the lake and a small stream called Himganga flows out. As alluded in the holy book Granth Sahib, Guru Govind Singh, in his earlier births, meditated on this lake's bank.

It is widely believed that here, Guru Govind Singh introduced the universal features associated with Sikhism. On 15th April 1699, he started the new brotherhood called the Khalsa (meaning the pure, from the Persian word 'Khales') an inner core of the faithful, accepted by baptism (amrit). The five K's' date from this period: kesh (uncut hair) kangha (comb), kirpan (dagger or short sword), kara (steel bangle), and kachh (boxer shorts). The most important is the uncut hair, adopted before the other four.

Day 06: Ghangaria - Govindghat - Rudraprayag (14 Kms trek + 132 Kms)
The morning starts with a trek down to Govindghat. On arrival meet the driver and move over Rudraprayag via Joshimath & Karnaprayag.
On arriving Rudraprayag check-in at hotel for your overnight stay.

Rudraprayag : It is the confluence of rivers Mandakini and Alaknanda.

Temples : Rudranath and Chamunda Devi, Koteshwar Temple (3 Kms).

Day 07: Rudraprayag - Rishikesh (134)
Visit Devprayag en-route your morning drive to Rishikesh. Check in at the hotel for your overnight stay.

Rishikesh is barely 24 Kms. from Haridwar. Located in the laps of lower Himalayas and is surrounded by hills on three sides with the holy Ganga flowing through it. The whole place is considered to be sacred as it is believed that meditating here leads to salvation. There are many temples, some ancient and some new along the riverside.

Rishikesh is important not only as pilgrimage centre closely associated with Ramayana, but also as home for many important Hindu religion centers' thought and spirituality. It has a very great Yoga Centre too! There are many ashrams and Yoga institutes here.
